MARKET OF STARS LOOKING GLASS LONG KIMONO
MARKET OF STARS LOOKING GLASS LONG KIMONO
Step through the looking glass with our loving tribute to Alice in Wonderland, a whimsical celebration of storytelling, imagination, Market of Stars and of course — wonder. This super cool piece features rare flower and foliage photography from the late 1800s, and a captivating portrait of Alice Liddell (the girl who inspired Lewis Carroll to write Alice in Wonderland), when she grew up. The portrait was taken in 1872 by influential photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, who photographed Liddell many times during her life. The moon in our design comes from a historic photo taken by the Harvard Observatory, and the star trim (including the trim on Alice’s collar) comes from a fragment of wallpaper from the same era.
The kimono comes with a matching soft tie belt. Wear the duster open over a velvet slip dress for a night at the theatre. Wear it during the day over your shorts and jeans and a tee. Wear as a dress, double breasted and belted with either the matching belt or your own. Wear over your swimmers at the resort pool.
Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Kimono meaurements: length 118cm, width 78 cm (across back, underarm to underarm).
